Meet the Witt Family

Mason was born with multiple heart defects, and a tethered spinal cord. At only seven years old this would not be his first surgery.

“We were so lucky to have stayed at the Ronald McDonald House® when our son was a baby and had his heart surgery.

About a year and a half ago, Mason began to experience back pain along with leg weakness.

We traveled from Chicago to Rhode Island to Florida, but no doctors would help.  We were told to accept our future. Accept that Mason would be in wheelchair.

Then we met with our new doctor at Oklahoma Children’s Hospital. He gave us hope and he was willing to perform the spinal surgery.

We were so lucky to have stayed at the Ronald McDonald House when our son was a baby… we were fortunate again to stay at the Ronald McDonald House in Oklahoma City.

Thanks to Ronald McDonald House Charities® Oklahoma City we arrived on November 10 and were able to stay with our son the whole time which would have not been possible due to finances.

Mason absolutely loves the Ronald McDonald House; he was so sad to leave, “said Samantha Witt (Mason’s mom).

After six nights the Witt family was able to go back home to Maryville, TN.
