Day of Change

October 15

Day of Change commemorates the opening of the very first Ronald McDonald House®. October 15 is the day RMHC chapters worldwide remind everyone that the spare change dropped into Donation Boxes at their local McDonald’s restaurant has a big impact – helping RMHC ensure that sick children always have family nearby.

Ronald McDonald House Charities Oklahoma City (RMHC-OKC) invites everyone to drop off their spare change to participate in the Day of Change Event from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, October 15 at the McDonald’s located at 2101 NW 23rd Street in Oklahoma City.

The Day of Change Event will feature fun children’s activities like glitter tattoos and a coloring contest by age group with prizes. From 4 p.m. – 6 p.m., Dave McKay from Magic 104.1 FM, KMGL will be at the event to support RMHC-OKC. There will also be a drawing for a gift basket for everyone who brings a full RMHC Change Box to the Day of Change Event. To get your RMHC Change Box, please call 405-424-6873.

The Day of Change Event is only happening at one McDonald’s, but RMHC-OKC encourages everyone to donate their spare change at their local participating McDonald’s on Monday, October 15.

The nickels, dimes and quarters donated at local McDonald’s restaurants helps RMHC-OKC support families with sick children. In 2017, RMHC-OKC helped keep nearly 900 sick children and their families together for nearly 9,000 nights, thanks in part to the change donated by McDonald’s customers.

The Day of Change Event is sponsored by Express Employment Professionals.

For more information regarding Day of Change, please contact Jill Edenstrom, Director of Marketing/Communications at 405-424-6873 ext. 103 or jedenstrom@rmhc-okc.org.

McDonald's customers make an impact for families.

Togetherness is invaluable, but it doesn’t cost much.
